Emma calls “Play Ball” in Chicago

When eight year old Emma Lenz joined MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014, she probably never thought it would result in her making a very special announcement in front of thousands of baseball fans.

But that’s what happened as she arrived with her parents in the city of Chicago on the coast-to-coast rally.

Emma, who is riding on MTTS 2014 with her mom and dad Heather and Nick in their MINI Clubman JCW between Austin, Texas, and Boston, Massachusetts, was chosen to open the ball game between the Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers.

As hundreds of MNI Motorers on MTTS 2014 watched on at US Cellular Field after their drive from St Louis to the Windy City, Emma confidently called “Play Ball!” ahead of the first pitch of the ball game.

Earlier in the day, as MINI Motorers gathered at the morning Rise and Shine  event in St Louis, Missouri, as they prepared to leave for Chicago, Emma was selected to make the announcement in a competition for younger MINI fans.
