HAIL THE MINI COUNTRYMAN!

A blue MINI covered in scores of Band Aids has been turning heads and attracting attention ever since the start of MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 in Atlanta, GA, on July 9… and everyone wants to know the reason for this unusual form of decoration.

Dawn and Dennis Epping, of Dallas, TX, explained the ‘sticking plaster chic’ of their 2014 Countryman MINIUSANEWS.com just before they set off on the ninth leg of MTTS 2016 from St. Paul, MN, to Sioux Falls, SD.

They said that their Countryman was unfortunate to be caught in two separate hail storms in Dallas two weeks apart and the hail caused significant damage to the bodywork which couldn’t be repaired before the start of their 4,400-mile motoring adventure from Atlanta, GA, to Palm Springs, CA.

“The bodyshop was unable to fit the car in until after MTTS, so we thought it would be a fun idea to disguise the damage with the Band Aids,” said Dawn. “They were very bad storms with soft ball-sized hail in places and it really made a mess of our car but we didn’t want that damage to spoil MTTS for us”

“This is our first time on the rally and it certainly won’t be our last,” she added.
