HEROIC SERVICE FROM MICHIGAN MINI DEALER SAVES THE DAY FOR TWO MOTORERS

Woodcliff Lake, NJ,  July 17, 2016.  When the MINI driven by Tara Fann and Brian Holtkamp on MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 was struck by a hit and run driver in Ohio, they feared it would be the end of their dream to drive all the way to California in the epic cross-country rally.

Their car, a Cooper S nicknamed Squirtly, was rear-ended in Toledo, Ohio, and the damage was sufficient to jeopardise their plans to drive the entire 4,400-mile route of the biennial motoring adventure.

But a call to their dealer in St. Louis started a chain of events that saw Squirtly being patched up and made safe for the road so they could continue their drive westwards. Karen Fortune, Sales Manager at MINI of St. Louis, contacted John Nazzal, Sales Manager at Motor City MINI in Detroit, MI, who stepped in to help the couple with the assistance of his Service Co-ordinator colleague, Alan Robson.

“The service from Motor City MINI was unbelievable,” said Tara, of St Louis, MO, speaking as they prepared to drive on day nine of the rally from St Paul, MN, to Sioux Falls, SD. “The body shop in Detroit was unable to fit us in at short notice but the dealer put our MINI back together with some running repairs so we could continue on MTTS. We were ready to give up and head home but they really looked after us and did a great job in putting us back on the road.”

Tara said that the hit and run was shocking and upsetting but added that she could now see the irony of Squirtly’s license plate which reads ‘BIG BNG’.
