Skip Just Had to Be There

MINI Motorer Skip Tanney was unable to join MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014 this time, but when the coast-to-coast rally passed through his home city of Lubbock, Texas, he felt he just had to be there to experience the event’s unique atmosphere and MINI community spirit.

As over 300 MINIs and their owners gathered for the early morning Rise and Shine at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, Skip rolled up in his red 2005 MINI Cooper S with his matching Teardrop Trailer to wave off the Motorers as they headed out on a 405-mile drive on the sixth leg of the rally to Austin.

“I had to work this time and so couldn’t join MTTS, but I really wanted to be here to meet my MINI friends and all the other owners from Lubbock,” said Skip, who had been able to take both his MINI and the Teardrop trailer to the latest MINIs In The Mountains event.
