Sue Comes to the Rescue on MTTS

Few Motorers demonstrate the MINI owners’ community spirit more than Sue Chavarria of Dallas, Texas.

Sue, who is taking part in her fifth MINI TAKES THE STATES drive, had planned to take her 2012 MINI Coupe to Utah to join MTTS 2014, but in Salt Lake City, her car was involved in an accident with a large truck, taking it off the road.

Sue, from Dallas, Texas, was forced to leave her 2012 Coupe with Salt Lake City dealer MINI of Murray for repairs but she was determined not to miss the 2014 rally. So she carried on to Wendover without her vehicle to join over a thousand other MINI Motorers as they prepared to drive to Grand Junction, Colorado.

After traveling for part of the rally as a passenger with fellow Motorers, she met her friend Zoe Watt, whose husband had been forced to leave the rally to travel to Georgia on urgent business matters. Zoe thought she would also have to abandon MTTS 2014 as she was unable to drive a stick shift MINI. Luckily, Sue could handle manual transmission …and so she volunteered to act as Sue’s driver in her MINI allowing them both to complete their journey together, all the way to Dallas.

“Before MTTS 2014, I had been on every one of the previous MTTS events and even though I had the accident, I really didn’t want to miss this year’s rally,” said Sue. “I was very happy to join up with Zoe and go from passenger to chauffeur!”
