MINI TAKES THE STATES ROLLS WEST ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

Over 300 MINI vehicles made it a Fourth of July to remember as they gathered for the kick off of MINI’s bi-annual owners road rally event, MINI TAKES THE STATES.

During the opening ceremony for the epic coast-to-coast drive, guests were greeted at the headquarters of MINI USA in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey by Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW North America. They were waved off on the first leg of the journey to Washington D.C . by Dr Kay Segler, Senior Vice President MINI Brand Management and Jim McDowell, Chief Motorer of MINI USA.

During a break in Philadelphia, owners were able to experience the go-kart handling of their vehicles in a MINIcross event at Citizens Bank Park before continuing their drive to the nation’s capital.

At the end of the day’s drive, the drivers celebrated July 4th in patriotic style by witnessing the breathtaking Independence Day fireworks display from an open-air terrace party at the Newseum in the heart of downtown Washington DC.

During the next 10 days, over 4,000 registered participants will take part in the cross-country rally, which continues with the next stage to Charlotte, North Carolina.
