MINI USA AND THE MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS RACE TEAM HEAD TO CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS AFTER TAKING FOUR PODIUMS AT SEBRING

Team sits in third place in team standings

Woodcliff Lake, NJ,  May 17, 2024. MINI USA and the MINI John Cooper Works Team are gearing up for Week 3 of the 2024 SRO TC America series at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. The team heads to one of the most challenging tracks in the series after battling for several podiums at Sebring just two weeks ago, where Cristian Perocarpi and P.J. Groenke each took home second and third place finishes in their respected classes – Perocarpi in TC and Groenke in TCA. Joing Groenke and Perocarpi this weekend are Scott Thomson in the #66 MINI JCW PRO in the TC class and Alan Grossberg in the #63 MINI JCW in the TCA class.

This weekend MINI USA and the MINI JCW Team will once again feature a special rooftop graphic on the roof of the #37 MINI JCW PRO driven by Perocarpi. MINI vehicles have long been known for having a highly visible white roof and in recent years still offers roof graphics and multi-tone roofs to support owner customization.

“The team has started the season very strong and we look to continue to build on that momentum heading into this weekend,”  said Luis Perocarpi, team owner, LAP Motorsports. “We have raced well at COTA over the past few seasons so we are well prepared to compete for additional podiums this weekend.”

This weekend’s crew will also include three MINI dealer technicians as part of the MINI Technician Race Crew Program. Every race weekend MINI dealer technicians support the team at the track during practice, qualifying and race days for the entire weekend. The race team relies on the skill and knowledge of the technicians that work, day to day on MINI, to bring that expertise to the track. This weekend the team will be supported by MINI dealer technicians from MINI of Dallas, Roadshow MINI and MINI of Clear Lake. Last season the team was supported by more than 20 qualified MINI dealer technicians and were also voted Crew of the Year by the series’ credentialed participants and competitors.

The MINI JCW Race Team finished the 2023 SRO TC America Series as runner up for both the Manufacturer’s Championship and Team Championship.
