OVERVIEW: MODEL YEAR 2022 MINI COUNTRYMAN

Woodcliff Lake, NJ,  June 11, 2021. The Model Year (MY) 2022 MINI Countryman benefits from significant update made for MY 2021, including a newly updated design, along with enhancements in technology and equipment offerings.  Most importantly it retains MINI’s “fun-to-drive” character and expressive design that makes it instantly recognizable as MINI.  As the largest and most versatile member of the MINI model family, the MY 2022 MINI Countryman offers individual flair in the hallmark style of the British premium brand.
 
The MINI Countryman has proven itself as an attractive vehicle concept in the premium compact cross-over segment, offering a versatile and ample interior with seating for five. The optional ALL4 all-wheel drive system makes the new MINI Countryman an all-around talent that inspires MINI driving fun, whether on the road in day-to-day traffic, or on long-distance trips, or even when venturing off the beaten path into unsurfaced terrain.
 
The progressive character of the new MINI Countryman is reflected in a range of model variants, from the plug-in hybrid drive MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 to the high performance MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4.  The new MINI Countryman also features digital MINI Connected services and a range of additional features, options, and accessories, including Original MINI Accessories.
 
The new MINI Countryman continues to expand the appeal of the MINI brand to a broader range of customers. Even in its first generation, the MINI Countryman was a pioneer, expanding brand appeal to customers who were looking for a compact cross-over that offered a unique combination of versatility and fun-to-drive with a stylish and expressive design.
 
As MINI’s first model with an exterior length of more than 13 feet, four doors, a large tailgate, five seats and all-wheel drive, the MINI Countryman laid the foundations for the brand’s highly successful advance into the premium compact crossover segment.  In the US the MINI Countryman remains one of the brand’s most popular models.
 
The MINI Countryman offers consumers attributes such as space, versatility, functionality, and ride comfort.  In addition, the MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 plug-in-electric-hybrid model continues to offer electrified mobility with greater efficiency and fewer emissions.  The MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 offers a compelling combination of efficiency, hybrid-specific all-wheel drive and the option of purely electric powered driving fun.
 
In addition to the plug-in hybrid variant, the MINI Countryman variants offer three gasoline engines featuring the latest MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology. The engines have seen extensive further development and cover an output spectrum ranging from 134 hp to 301 hp.
 
U.S. Market Pricing
The MY 2022 MINI Countryman lined up saw no price increase from MY 2021 across all variants. All trim packages for the MINI Countryman also now include a lane departure warning system and a 12-month subscription to SiriusXM®. Pricing for all variants and trim package provided below.


MINI John Cooper Works Countryman
The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman boasts what is by some measure the most powerful model ever approved for public road use in the brand’s sixty-year history. The 301 hp. 4-cylinder turbo engine in the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman displays outstanding performance in the compact premium segment. The extraordinarily powerful engine is combined as standard with a new 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission, including mechanical differential lock on the front axle, an ALL4 all-wheel drive system, a specifically engineered chassis, and additional reinforcement modifications for the body structure, engine connection and chassis fastenings.
 
MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition
The MY 2022 MINI Countryman is also available as a special edition. The MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition comes well equipped and with aesthetically compelling contrasts and colors that speak to MINI enthusiasts who want to stand out and express themselves.
 
Color & Style Accents
With unique color combinations, an expressive exterior and stylish ambience in the interior, the Boardwalk Edition makes for a fun ride for everyone. On the outside, the Boardwalk Edition comes in a Deep Laguna Metallic body color complemented by the black contrast finish on the roof and matching exterior mirror caps.
 
The Boardwalk Edition also comes with matching black 18-inch Pin Spoke wheels and a Piano Black Exterior Trim. Turning to the interior, the Boardwalk Edition includes a Leather Cross Punch Black interior trim along with the Touchscreen Navigation Package on the console. The Boardwalk Edition also comes equipped with door sills, roof and dashboard graphics, as well as special Boardwalk side scuttles.

Equipment
The MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition comes with several optional interior and exterior features, including LED Fog Lights and Headlights, Comfort Access Keyless Entry and power-folding exterior mirrors with auto-dimming on both the interior and exterior mirrors.
 
The MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition also offers a bevy of comfort and entertainment add-ons perfect for open-top driving, including SiriusXM Satellite Radio with one year All-Access, a harman/kardon Premium Sound System, Touchscreen Navigation, Heated Front Seats, Storage Package and Automatic Climate Control.
 
The MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition, a Cooper S variant, has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $38,365 plus an additional $850 Destination & Handling fee. A Cooper S ALL4 variant is also available at $40,365 MSRP. This limited-edition Countryman began production in March of this year and is now available at U.S. dealerships.
 
What Changes for MY 2022 + Tech Specs: Inside and Out
With a substantial model update introduced for MY 2021, changes within the MINI Countryman vehicle lineup for MY 2022 are minimal, with the MINI Cooper Countryman (and ALL4), the Cooper S Countryman (and ALL4) and Cooper SE Countryman all retaining the same exciting, high performance tech specs across the board. Updates for MY 2022 include;
 

• The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman received a top-speed increase from 149 MPH to 155 MPH.
• All models and trim packages in the Countryman models now include a lane departure warning system and a 12-month subscription to SiriusXM®.
• Signature and Iconic trim packages of the John Cooper Works Countryman also now offer both the Driver Assistance and optional Convenience packages. Contents of these packages include;

Available Options & Trim
The MINI Countryman lineup retains most key features from the previous model year, with some minor but impactful additions including LED headlights for all trim packages of the MINI Cooper Countryman and Cooper Countryman ALL4. The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 now also offers both the Driver Assistance and Convenience packages for the signature and iconic trims. In addition, a 12-month subscription to SiriusXM® is now included across all trim packages for all models in the Countryman lineup.
