MINI Invasion 2014 in Canada

As MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014 passed close to the Canadian border between Cleveland, Ohio, and Buffalo, New York, a delegation of around 30 MINIs peeled off the main group to meet fellow Motorers in Canada.

The group drove to Niagara on the Lake in Southern Ontario to join a special gathering of Canadian MINI Motorers called MINI Invasion 2014. The party, held at the historic Fort George, attracted over 150 Canadian MINIs and their owners, who attended from as far afield as new Brunswick, over 1,600 km away.

Adam Shaver, Director of MINI Canada, who welcomed the MMTS 2014 group to Canada, said: “When we heard that MTTS 2014 would be passing so close to Canada, we felt it was too good an opportunity to miss.”

“When we came up with the idea for MINI Invasion, we thought maybe 20 or 30 cars from Canada would be there,” he said, “But Canadian owners seemed to love the idea and in the end, almost 200 MINIs and around 500 owners registered to attend.”

David Duncan, Chief Motorer of MINI USA, who drove to Canada with the group: told those at MINI Invasion 2014: “The success of this party here in Canada shows that MINI TAKES THE STATES is not just a US phenomenon, it’s an international phenomenon.”

As the MTTS 2014 guests returned to re-join the main coast-to-coast rally in New York state, they visited Niagara Falls for a special photoshoot of two MINIs wrapped with US and Canadian flag graphics staged in front of the massive falls.
