MINIs on Main Street

Hundreds of MINIs drove along the “Main Street of America” as MINI TAKES THE STATES 2014 rolled on from the state of Missouri and onto the shores of Lake Michigan.

MINI Motorers enjoyed driving on sections the legendary Route 66 between the cities of St Louis and Chicago, Illinois, during a 365-mile drive on the tenth leg of the coast-to-coast rally between San Francisco and Boston.

MINI Motorers were able to capture images of themselves and their cars alongside iconic features of the route that is known as “The Mother Road”, especially in the key Route 66 community of Pontiac, Illinois, home of the Route 66 museum.

The day’s drive began with a lap of the 1.25-mile NASCAR track at Gateway Motorsport Park near St Louis, involving almost 300 MINIs, and ended with a gathering close to US Cellular Field, in Chicago, home of the White Sox baseball team, where they later took in a ball game between the White Sox and the Texas Rangers.

The 5,200-mile rally enters the final quarter of the epic rally with a 350-mile drive to the shores of Lake Erie and to  Cleveland, Ohio, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
