MINI USA executives proudly supporting MTTS 2018

MINI motorers who every two years join MINI TAKES THE STATES can always bank on the participation and enthusiastic support for the epic motoring adventure by executives from MINI USA.

And those driving on the western route of MTTS 2018 from Portland to Keystone have enjoyed the company of three of the company’s senior staff this year.

Since the rally departed from Oregon, Thomas Felbermair, VP of MINI North America, and Randy Clements, Department Head, Product Planning & Aftersales, have been busy meeting the hundreds of motorers at each morning’s Rise and Rally event in the various stopover cities on the western route.

They were joined this year by Stephan Reiff, VP of Aftersales, who took part in the rally for the first time. And, boy, has he enjoyed the ride! “My only previous experience of MTTS was the Rise and Shine event in Baltimore in 2016,” he said when the rally arrived in Pasadena, California, on day four of the event. “I was so impressed by the energy of the event that I just had to do it again.”

This year, he was able to cover 1,140 miles driving between Portland and Los Angeles and was joined on the journey by his son, Matteo.

Over on the western route, Tom Salkowsky, Head of MINI Sales, who is on his third MTTS and is being accompanied this year by his son TJ, spoke to guests as they met for the Rise & Rally event at the AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas at the start of Day Five. “Why do we do MINI TAKES THE STATES?” he asked.

He told the audience: “It’s all about you – the MINI community. It’s the only car that comes with friends as standard. We are so blessed and grateful for all that you do and how you contribute to our car company and our brand.”
